Embroidery weaving is a hybrid of embroidery and weaving and DOES NOT REQUIRE A LOOM to create handwoven art! This means that it is a perfect technique to learn when you want to get started weaving for less with less.
Another reason that embroidery weaving shines is the endless shaped-weaving possibilities that you have since you are not confined to a traditional loom. The Warped Fibers embroidery weaving kit is perfect for new and established weavers. Each kit includes all the materials you need to do 3 sample embroidery weavings plus 1 finished piece (all of your own design!) This is not a project kit, but it IS a discovery kit! You can expect info on setting up your embroidery hoop, warping for rectangular and organic shapes, detached and attached weft, info on basic weaving patterns (twill, plaid, weft-faced), ideas for your canvas, weaving tips, and more! Never done this technique before? No worries! Each kit comes with access to a welcome video and quick start pdf guide that will walk you through the basics so you can start weaving in no time!

I was fortunate to receive the kit as part of a class with Nicole (if you have the opportunity to take her class you absolutely should!!). But if you can’t, this kit is the next best thing. It made it so easy to learn this new embroidery technique and explore different ways to utilize it. I ended up having to leave the class early but having all the kit pieces and instructions helped me pick up on the things I’d missed out on.

Had a great time learning this technique, it’s a lot of fun and also something you can work on anywhere! The kit has everything you need as a complete beginner, so don’t be afraid if you don’t have any supplies or experience. I also like that the included pouch is both useful as storage but also can be customized as a first project! Would definitely recommend to someone looking to dip their toes into weaving as a hobby.

The colors are thoughtfully chosen and work together well. I choose a color not in my comfort zone. They blended beautifully together.
